58-yr-old could replace Ancelotti, some Everton fans react: ‘We’re so small time’, ‘Surely not’ – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a move back to Real Madrid this summer.
According to the latest reports, the Italian is closing in on his return to Santiago Bernabeu and it will be interesting to see how the Toffees replace him.
As per the Times, Everton could look to bring David Moyes back to the club as a potential replacement.
The report further states that Nuno Espirito Santo and Eddie Howe are likely to be on the shortlist of candidates to replace the Italian manager as well.
Moyes has done an excellent job at West Ham United this past season and he has helped the Londoners secure a top-six finish in the Premier League.
The Hammers will play Europa League football next season and it seems highly unlikely that Moyes will abandon his project at the London club and return to Goodison Park this summer.
Furthermore, West Ham are unlikely to sanction his departure either.
In theory, however, Moyes could be a reasonably good appointment for Everton. He knows the club well and he was adored by the fans during his time at the club.
The 58-year-old has proven this season that he is still a quality Premier League manager and he could be the man to rebuild Everton into a competitive side once again.
It will be interesting to see how the Everton managerial situation unfolds over the next few weeks now.
Have him back all day, best manager we had since Kendall, will get the best out of players, never had big money, and got us into Europe 3 times, he would be dangerous with money
