Leeds will have to pay £34.5m for attacker with 16 goal contributions this season – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United have been linked with a move for the Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha.
According to Berliner Kurier, the Brazilian is likely to cost around €40 million (£34.5m) this summer and the likes of Napoli, Monaco and Atalanta are keen on signing the player as well.
The Brazilian player has a contract until the summer of 2025 and it is understandable why the German side are demanding a massive fee for his services.
SL View: Ideal move for both parties
The Hertha BSC attacker has scored 8 goals and created 8 assists for his teammates this past season and he could prove to be a sensational addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s attack next year.
There is no doubt that the Whites need to add more depth to their attacking unit and Cunha could prove to be a solid long term addition.
Patrick Bamford has been outstanding for Leeds as their main striker this past season but the English forward is not clinical enough and Bielsa needs to add more competition to his striking department.
The 22-year-old centre forward can operate in the wide areas as well and his versatility will be an added bonus for the Premier League side.
Cunha is immensely talented and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player in future. He could justify the reported price tag in future.
Working with a manager like Bielsa could help him unlock his potential and improve as a footballer and the move to Leeds could be the ideal next step in his career.
