The 34-year-old is no longer a key player for Chelsea and needs to leave the club to play regularly next season.
A move to Serie A could be ideal for Giroud at this stage of his career. The slower pace of Italian football is likely to suit his style of play, and he could prove to be a handy option for Milan.
They could definitely use more depth in their attacking department, and signing Giroud on a free transfer would be a wise decision.
Giroud has proven to be extremely useful for club and country over the years and is likely to make a vital contribution for Milan even if he is not playing regularly.
The towering centre forward has the ability to come on as a substitute and change the game for his side.
After winning major trophies in France and England, the striker will relish the opportunity to challenge for silverware in Italy.
Giroud is unlikely to be the last forward to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Tammy Abraham tipped to head elsewhere during the upcoming transfer window.
