Spurs players reportedly aware Levy could appoint 49y/o & are excited by the prospect – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino about a return to N17 this summer, according to The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke.
The players are said to be aware of the possibility of the Argentine returning, and are excited by the prospect.
The 49-year-old spent five-and-a-half seasons with Spurs, guiding them to four top-four finishes in the Premier League before his departure.
Tottenham also reached the League Cup and Champions League finals under Pochettino, but they regressed under his successor Jose Mourinho.
While the Argentine has won the French Cup and Coupe de France since joining PSG in January, he has found it hard to settle in the French capital and is open to returning to North London.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy knows bringing the former White Hart Lane favourite back to the club would be a popular move, but pulling off a deal could be difficult.
Pochettino has a year left on his PSG contract and the French giants are not particularly keen on having their third manager in three years.
While a return to Tottenham remains a possibility, the Argentine would most likely have to resign in order to force his way out of Parc des Princes.
Pochettino has found his role at PSG to be less powerful than the one that he held at Spurs and has found himself facing the same internal issues Thomas Tuchel did.
The French giants are also aware of the situation and are said to be sounding out potential replacements.
In other news, Gary Lineker thinks he knows where Spurs-linked manager is moving to next.
