Leeds keen on €36m-rated ace, Radrizzani’s connections could be useful – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United are being linked with a move for the Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez once again.
The Cagliari star has been linked with Marcelo Bielsa’s side on a weekly basis over the last month and Calciomercato.it are now claiming that Leeds are eyeing up a summer move for the player and that the other suitors are likely to pull out of the race.
Apparently, Serie A giants Roma were keen on the player as well but their interest is fading.
The player is reportedly valued at €36m but Cagliari could be willing to sell him for less despite the player having a release clause in his contract.
The report also adds that relations between the presidents of the two clubs, Tommaso Giulini and Andrea Radrizzani, are excellent. It will be interesting to see if the Whites can negotiate a reasonable asking price for the 25-year-old in the coming weeks.
SL View: Ideal fit for Bielsa-ball
Leeds could definitely use a tactically intelligent midfielder next season, someone who can play multiple roles and Nandez seems like a good fit. Nandez is an intelligent player who has the ability to adapt to English football. Furthermore, he is an excellent presser of the ball and he would fit right in at Elland Road.
Leeds have been excellent in the Premier League this season but they have a small squad. Bielsa must look to address that and bring in more quality options during the summer transfer window.
