Leeds reportedly in contact with €20m French attacker PSG want – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to Le Parisien (via GFFN), Leeds United are keen on bringing Brest attacking midfielder Romain Faivre to Elland Road this summer and have been in contact with his representatives.

However, they face huge competition from Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.

The French giants’ manager Mauricio Pochettino was impressed with Faivre’s performance against his side in a Coupe de France match in France despite a 3-0 defeat, and PSG are looking to go all in for his signature this summer.

They are ready to blow Leeds and others away in the race by offering Bandiougou Fadiga – who is currently on loan at Brest – as a makeweight to clinch the deal.

Brest are expected to demand around €20 million for his services, and Bayer Leverkusen, Dortmund, Gladbach, AC Milan, Rennes and Nice are also keen on him.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side brought in Raphinha from Rennes last summer, and the Brazilian attacker hit the ground running and is already attracting the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Leeds are looking to raid the French top-flight again and Faivre appears to have caught their eyes.

The 22-year-old has scored six goals and weighed in with five assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

The Frenchman plays predominantly on the left, but is also capable of playing on the right, behind the striker and through the middle.

Bielsa is a huge fan of such versatility, but whether Leeds can pip PSG to his signature remains to be seen.
