‘Absolute baller’, ‘The real deal’ – Some Liverpool fans react to links with £30m-rated midfielder – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Liverpool are thought to be keen on signing the Ajax defensive midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
The 18-year-old is highly rated across Europe and Premier League rivals Chelsea are thought to be looking at him as well.
According to the Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (via Express), the player is valued at around £30 million and it will be interesting to see if the Reds manage to sign the Dutch youngster this summer.
Liverpool are likely to lose Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer at the end of this season and his compatriot Gravenberch is likely to be the replacement.
The Dutchman is an excellent passer from the deep and he could be lethal with his long-range efforts as well. Furthermore, the 18-year-old midfielder is a superb ball carrier and he has impressive dribbling ability.
The Ajax youngster is a prodigious young talent and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could help him develop and fulfil his potential at Anfield.
The German has done well to develop young players like Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez during his time at the Premier League club and he could have a similar impact on Gravenberch’s game as well.
The reported £30 million could prove to be a bargain if the youngster manages to fulfil his potential with Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether the Reds can fend off the competition from Chelsea and sign the player this summer.
Here is how the Reds fans have reacted to the news.
