Celtic make contact with 43-yr-old manager, some of their fans react: ‘It’s happening’, ‘Get it done’ – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Celtic have been linked with a host of managers in recent weeks and it seems that the Scottish giants have made an approach to the former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.

The 43-year-old is currently a free agent and he could prove to be a quality long term replacement for Neil Lennon.

Celtic parted ways with Lennon last month and John Kennedy has taken over as the interim boss.

The Hoops will have to bring in someone with a more long term view in the summer and Howe could be ideal for them.

The former Premier League manager did well to rebuild Bournemouth with talented young players and Celtic could use someone like him.

The Scottish outfit are in need of a major rebuild and they need a manager who will bring a distinct style of play to the club.

According to Football Insider, Howe is open to the Celtic job and it will be interesting to see if the Hoops can finalise this appointment over the next few weeks.

Apparently, the Crystal Palace job could be tempting for the 43-year-old as well.

Howe will have a major challenge ahead of him if he takes over as the Celtic manager next season. Apart from the fact that he will have to compete with Rangers for the Scottish league title, he will also need to get rid of the deadwood and bring in fresh new talent.

The Ibrox outfit are very close to winning the title this season and the Celtic fans will be bitterly disappointed to have missed out on their 10th League title in a row.

Here is how the Celtic fans have reacted to the news.
